Leanne Park, Physiotherapist Resident

Leanne was born and raised right down the street in Waterloo, Ontario. Growing up she was a competitive gymnast at KW Gymnastics Club. When Leanne was 12 years old, she was introduced to physiotherapy after a bad fall off the balance beam. Through months of therapy, she developed a love for the human body and injury rehabilitation. This led to her decision of becoming a physiotherapist, so she too could help others recover and get back to activities that are meaningful to them.

Leanne graduated from the University of Waterloo with her Bachelor of Science in Honours Kinesiology with a minor in Rehabilitation Science before attending Western University to earn her Master of Physical Therapy. Leanne believes a physiotherapist’s role is to act as a teammate in helping guide and facilitate her patient’s recovery and prevent future injury through education, manual therapy, soft tissue release, and exercise prescription.

Outside the Office

Outside of the office, Leanne is likely to be found upside-down in a handstand. As a member of the KW Acroyoga Community, Leanne learned she can balance not just on her hands on the ground, but also on someone else’s hands held six feet in the air! Leanne loves to explore the outdoors. She tries every year to visit her family in Newfoundland, hiking as many mountains as possible, and hopes she can fit in some rock climbing her next trip!
