The Trick to Getting Fit (or any other healthy habit!)

 

This month the Price Team is participating in Ride for Refuge 2020 to support Food4Kids Waterloo. Each team member is committing to a personalized fitness challenge to complete by October 1st.

While some of the challenges our team members are taking on may seem crazy, a challenge doesn’t have to be bench pressing 100 000 lbs or biking 100 km. A challenge is anything that you want it to be!

 

Want to be more active? Commit to getting 8000 steps, or 10 000 steps, or however many steps you are ambitious enough to take on for 2 weeks or a month.

Want to eat healthier meals? Commit to making 4 healthy dinners a week for a month.

 

Committing yourself to a challenge in the short term can also help you build healthy habits in the long run! Adding something into your routine for a month can make it feel more manageable to work it into your routine long after the month is over.

 

Completing the challenge with a friend, family member, or co-worker can help motivate you and keep you accountable. Having another person to help push you when you’re feeling like skipping your challenge can keep you on track and make the challenge more fun!

 

If you’re looking for inspiration for your fitness challenge this month here’s a list of all the crazy things the Price & Fit Club Teams are doing:

  • Dr. Tara – 150km running
  • Dr. Jason – 100 mile bike ride
  • Dr. Rob – 100km running
  • Barb – 100km of walking/jogging
  • Dr. Meghan 100km bike ride
  • Mark – light jog 20km/week
  • Mack – row 50km
  • Dr. Evan – 100km of running
  • Vanessa – 150km cycling
  • Aaron – 100km bike ride
  • Bryan – 100 000lbs bench press this month
  • Alex – 1000 burpees
  • Naomi – swim 20km
  • Pauline – 30 min exercise/day & daily plank/pushup challenge
  • Caitlyn – walk 30 min/day & lift 30 000lbs this month
  • Meredith – play 30 games of tennis
  • Nicole – jog 60kms for the month & 50 pushups/day
  • Jesse – run 100kms
  • Stefan – 300 workout in 20 mins
  • Bruna – 300 mins of planks
