What Everyone Needs to Know About Better Head Posture

Did you know that your head weighs about 10lbs? That’s as much as a bowling ball!

 

Do you get headaches or neck pain after working or driving? The way you sit may be making it harder for the muscles in your neck to hold your head up.

Red Light Exercise:

  • Bring your shoulders back and down
  • Look straight ahead and tuck your head and chin straight back
  • Make sure your head isn’t tilting toward your chest – I like to tell people to pull their chin back like they are making a double chin. It feels odd but it works!
  • Hold for 5 seconds and rest
  • Repeat as many times as you can at every red light or at your desk at work

 

Incorporating this exercise into your daily routine is going to help STRENGTHEN your deep neck flexor muscles and take the pressure off of the tiny muscles working overtime to keep your head on straight.  This exercise is so easy to do and can save you from headaches and neck pain!
