So are Chiropractors real doctors? What’s the difference anyway?
This week Dr. Rob shares a funny story about his daughter and why she thought he wasn’t a ‘real doctor’.

Like Dr. Rob’s daughter, lots of people have different ideas of what makes a ‘real’ doctor whether it’s a stethoscope, a PhD, a medical degree, or a degree in chiropractic
Most individuals with a Dr. in front of their name have 8 or more years of education and are experts in their field. Chiropractors are not the only health profession outside of medicine to earn the Dr. title. Think of dentists, psychologists, optometrists, and veterinarians, they’re all doctors with very specific skills.
So what about chiropractors? Chiropractors typically have 8 years of post-secondary education including an undergraduate degree and 4 years of chiropractic college where they learn subjects like anatomy, biology, chemistry, pathology, diagnosis, and more. Some even have stethoscopes!
When a chiropractor graduates they are considered experts in the disorders of the spine, nerves, joints, muscles, and ligaments.
